Mrs. Brenda Joyce Hatcher of Louisville, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025. Brenda was born on November 11, 1943, to the late Julius Levi and Nellie Ruth Coulter in Gore, Georgia. She continued to make Georgia her home as she earned her Bachelors Degree in Education from Berry College in Rome. One of her proudest accomplishments was being selected to Berry Singers, where she was able to travel across the country and showcase her beautiful alto voice. She went on to earn her Masters Degree in Business Administration from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Brenda taught VOE at Farragut High School, then at Alcoa High School. Ultimately, she stopped teaching school and worked at Smoky Mountain Aero for a number of years before joining her husband with his excavating business.

She loved working in her yard and had the most beautiful flower beds - strangers would often drop by her home and ask for a cutting of a plant -which she always shared. She also Loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Precious.

Brenda was a member of St. Mark's Methodist Church for 59 years, serving as a Sunday schoolteacher, church treasurer, but most of all, she loved singing in the choir. She spoke fondly of her time with the choir members and her friend, Donna Wolford, the choir director.

Brenda was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Burl Hatcher; her brother, Sherwin Coulter and sister Doris (Donald) Dickson. She is survived by her daughter, Missie Graves; son, Andy (Tiffany) Hatcher; stepchildren, Jeff (Fay) Hatcher; Tim (Donna) Hatcher; David (Tracy) Hatcher.
