Brenda Joyce Smith (B.J.) Stang

Brenda Joyce Smith (B.J.) Stang, age 78 of Maryville, TN entered eternal rest on February 17, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. A 1961 graduate of Everett High School, she earned the title of RN from SUNY-Albany. As a RN, she applied her skills in the Family Birthing Center at Blount Memorial Hospital before joining the staff of Maryville Surgery Center touching countless lives before retirement. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by father and mother, William and Leona Smith; brothers, Robert Smith, Donald Wayne Smith; sister, Julia Torrey and Una V. McCuiston.

She survived by her husband, Edmund (Mick) Stang; daughter, Kymberley Morgan; son, Johnny Morgan and wife Brandi; grandchildren, Brandon Morgan, Damon Morgan and Danica Morgan; siblings, Barbara Mahoney, Patricia Baugh, William (Buddy) Smith; trusted friend Mary Ellen Rider.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM, Saturday, February 26th at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with a celebration of life to follow at 2:00 PM. The internment will be private.

In lieu of flower, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Jude’s Cancer Research Center for Children on her behalf.

Proof of Covid Vaccination and mask will be mandatory at entry.
