Carl Edward Simpson

Carl Edward Simpson, age 91, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at home. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Corp having served in World War II. He was retired from Piedmont Airlines with 33 years of service. After retirement he was a bagboy at Food City for 10 years and coached at Maryville Little League for 28 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Nellie Simpson; brothers, Frellen Simpson, Dewey Simpson; two grandchildren, Stacey Simpson, Ricky Talley. Survivors include Opal, his devoted wife of 67 years; daughter, Carlene Talley (Richard); son, Roger Simpson (Diane); grandchildren, Lisa Worthington (Ken), Jennifer Reece (David), Jeff Talley; great grandchildren, Samuel Talley, Sarah Talley, Suzanna Talley and Simeon Talley, Robby Reece, Lucas Reece; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Dalton officiating. The interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
