Charles M. ''Barney'' Stephens

STEPHENS, Charles M. “Barney”, age 82 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2003, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Niles Ferry Baptist Church, was a veteran of World War II and was owner of Barney Stephens and Sons Upholstery Shop. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Effie Dye Stephens and sister, Mildred Patterson. Survivors include: wife, Esther Stephens; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Sandy Stephens and Tom and Gail Stephens all of Maryville; grandchildren, Kim and Jason Effler, Felecia Gibson, Shane Stephens, Mendy Stephens and Stephanie Gurley all of Maryville; great grandchildren, Brian Thomas, Sassy and Christian; special niece, Katherine Tallent and other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Churchman officiating. A military graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
