In Loving Memory of Cheryl Gray Taylor June 13, 1950 – May 13, 2025 Cheryl Gray Taylor, aged 74, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, in Sevierville, Tennessee, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pendleton, Oregon, Cheryl was the beloved wife of Joe Taylor for 54 years, a devoted mother to Rachelle Taylor and Maryellen Sylvia, cherished grandmother to Jake DeNecochea, Matthew Sylvia, Emma Coito, Katie Sylvia, and Adam Sylvia, and great-grandmother to Emmett DeNecochea. Cheryl lived a life devoted to love, powerful prayer, and service. A gifted musician, she earned a scholarship to California Baptist College to play piano for the women’s traveling ensemble. She later led a women’s bell choir that performed at the California State Baptist Convention, taught piano, and led in church choirs for both youth and adults. A talented playwright and puppeteer, Cheryl wrote and performed puppet shows for children’s ministry. She was also a counselor and mentor to many young women and served faithfully alongside her husband in pastoral ministry. Cheryl never met a stranger and was a source of encouragement to everyone. Cheryl also worked as a dental assistant and enjoyed walking, sewing, crafting, painting, gardening, studying Spanish, and reading. A lifelong learner, she approached life with curiosity and creativity.
