Clara Ellis Matthews

Clara Ellis Matthews, age 71 of Alcoa, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011, at her home. She was a member of Smokey View Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Pearl Ellis; brothers, Odie Ellis, Shorty Ellis, Amon Ellis and brother-in-law, Carl Ferguson. Survivors include her husband, John P. Matthews of Alcoa; son and daughter-in-law, John D. and Mary Matthews of NM; daughter and son-in-law, Sissy Matthews Felice and Steve Felice of FL; grandchildren, Alex and Zach Felice of FL, Elena and Anna Matthews of NM; sisters, Loma Ferguson of Louisville, Sonia Byrd and husband Ethridge of Alcoa, Mona Ross and husband Charlie of Scott County, TN; brother, Claude Ellis, Jr. of OH; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Grandview Mausoleum for an entombment service with Dr. Mark Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Smokey View Baptist Church, 2201 W.
