Donald Allen Talley, age 87, of Maryville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025. He was born on April 1, 1938, in Maryville, Tennessee, the son of Gatin T. Talley and Sarah Allen Talley.
Don was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life reflected love, commitment, and service to others. He was a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America, both the Florida and Tennessee Army National Guard, and the Masonic Lodge, where he built lasting friendships and dedicated himself to supporting his community.
He is survived by his loving wife, Louise Lane Talley; his children, David Talley (wife Lisa) and Donna Russell; his grandchildren, Landon Allen Russell (wife Sydney), Talley Russell Weeks (husband Nolan), Garrett Lynn Russell (wife Shealey), and Ethan Richardson; his sister, Ann Talley Hitch (husband Parks); and family friend, Stan Burnette.
Don will be remembered for his strong character, steady faith, and devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled and the countless lives he touched.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Amedisys Hospice Health Care, especially Anna Marie, Lindsey, and Maysie, for their compassionate care and support during Don’s final days.
Services honoring Don will be a burial at Magnolia Cemetery in Maryville, TN on Friday, October 3 at 1:00. On Saturday, October 4, the family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00, with a Celebration of Life following at 2:00, at New Providence Presbyterian Church in Maryville, TN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to one of the following organizations: Boy Scout Troop 88, Isaiah House 117, or Blount County Schools Family Resource Center.
