Donna passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 9, 2026. Born in Watertown, New York, she was the devoted daughter of David and Louise Guy, as well as a beloved sister to Linda and Mary. In her parents’ later years, she committed herself to caring for them while still working a full-time job at GE Power Systems. Donna was a proud graduate of Decatur High School in 1967, attended Georgia State University, and eventually went on to graduate from East Tennessee State University earning a Bachelor of Business Finance.
In her career she excelled as a Banking Officer / IT Network Administrator and pioneer for early dialup online banking in Atlanta. Over the years she proved herself a natural leader, as: PTA president, the VP of Welcome Wagon, and even chairing a City Council. She was also a driven and beloved mother, becoming a soccer coach, boy scout leader, and church elder. While raising four children, she committed herself to finishing college and became a real estate agent. Even though she was busy with all those things, Donna gave her time and love to garden and creating art.
Donna was a social butterfly, involved in hiking, art, golf, and listening to blues bands with friends. She founded many clubs, including one for local women investors. She constantly gave back, volunteering and donating to National Parks. If there was a party or festival going on in Atlanta there was a good chance you could find her dancing with friends. Donna could often be found antiquing or visiting the Botanical Garden or zoo, she especially loved bringing her grandchildren along on her adventures!
Donna was preceded in death by her dear parents, and loving sister Mary Holton, as well as her beloved grandson Jamison Chrivia.
She is survived by her sister Linda Wright, her children, Jessica Van Atta, Michael Chrivia, Cullen Chrivia, Christopher Chrivia; her grandchildren, Alycia Chrivia, Roxanne Noble, Miles Van Atta, Cullen Chrivia II, Addison Chrivia, Simon Chrivia and Marylin Presley.
Donna was a bright, intelligent, fun and caring mother, daughter and friend. She always found joy in the little things in life, like dancing or enjoying Moose Tracks ice cream with loved ones. She will forever be held in the hearts and minds of the many people that she impacted during her life.
