Dorothy C. Whitehead Rhyne

Dorothy C. Whitehead Rhyne, age 88 of Maryville, went to be with her Savior Friday, April 29, 2011, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of New Providence Primitive Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Joseph York Rhyne; her parents, Robb and Eliza Whitehead; sisters, Dessie Miller and Lottie Roddy; brothers, Dossie Whitehead and Woodrow Whitehead. Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and adored by all who knew her. Survivors include: daughters, Jean and son-in-law Herman Bowers, Joann Rhyne Smith; Son; R.C. Rhyne and daughter-in-law Linda; grandchildren, Michael Bowers and wife Kimberly, Tommy Bowers and wife Tina, Bobby Rhyne and wife Jennifer, Sherry Boring and husband Ed, Russell Smith, Brian Smith, Johnny Ray and wife Karen; 12 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; brothers ; Farris and Chris Whitehead, Robert Lee and Josephine Whitehead; sisters, June and Ralph Smith, Lela Partin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, W.D. and Betty Rhyne; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011 at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. Tommy Boring and Rev. Ronnie Crisp officiating. The interment will be 1:00 p.m. Monday in Williamsons Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
