BEST SR., Earl William, age 87 of Maryville, passed away Friday, October 3, 2003. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, he was a graduate of Everett High School and attended Maryville College, he retired from ALCOA in 1978 after 43 years of service, of which 3½ years were with ALCOA of Australia, and he was a member of the ALCOA 25 Year Service Club. Mr. Best was a longtime cattle farmer who was born and died on his beloved farm. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Adam Lee Best; parents, Warren D. and Ocia Rasar Best; brother and sister-in-law, Fermond and Hazel Best; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Wiley Myers. Survivors include his spouse, Ruth Barber Best; son and daughter-in-law, Earl William Jr. and Debra Dotson Best; grandson, Richard Earl Best; several nieces and nephews; special caring friend, Cookie Wald. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Russell, Dr. Marvin Gass and Rev. Bob Souders officiating. The interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
