Effie L. Buchanan

Effie L. Buchanan, age 87 of Alcoa, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Happy Valley Primitive Baptist Church, Red Top and was preceded in death by her husbands, Elmer Shope and Green Buchanan; brothers, Luther, Sidney, James and Jessie Franklin; sisters, Louisa Correll, and Della Whitehead. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. and Regina Shope of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Gladys and Fern Coada of Happy Valley; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Sudie Jones and Lena Hearon both of Maryville; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Happy Valley Primitive Baptist Church, Red Top, with Rev. Beecher Whitehead officiating. The interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
