Farris Whitehead, 93, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 15, 2026. He served 20 years in the US Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from Blount County Highway Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, RB and Eliza Whitehead; 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wanda (Chris); sons, Mark (Julie Compton), Kevin (Trish); daughter, Pam (John) Lequire; grandchildren, Matt Whitehead, Sarah Lequire, Lucas, Lily and Kinsley Whitehead; sister, June (Whitehead) Smith of Georgia; huge number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm, Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Kagley’s Chapel Baptist Church and the service to follow at 3:00 pm with Dr. Mark Grubb officiating. The interment will be immediately following at Kagley’s Cemetery.
