Florence Gail Burchfield

Florence Gail Burchfield, 75, passed away on April 19, 2026, at home. She was preceded by her mother, Gladys Anderson; father, Troy Morgan Sr.; brother, Troy (Eddie) Morgan Jr; grandson, Bailey Burchfield; husband, Earnest Burchfield. 

Gail is survived by her children, Annette (Kelly) Murray, Michael Burchfield, Jennifer (Matt) Kennedy; grandchildren, Toni Hammonds, Morgan Ewing, Kristen Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Roby, Joshua, Bailey and Khayson Hammonds; sister, Linda (Ricky) Harrill; sister-in-law, Lisa Morgan; childhood friend, Geaneall Jenkins; several nieces and nephews. 

Gail worked two jobs and raised three children by herself. She worked in the cafeteria at Eagleton Middle School. She also worked at Kay’s Ice Cream, Goody’s, several gas stations, and Rubbermaid. She never met a stranger. Gail made sure to be there to watch all sporting events her children were involved in and went on school field trips. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed planting and taking care of her yellow rose bushes. She spent 17 years taking care of her husband after his wreck. Gail was not only a mother, grandmother or a sister, she was also a domestic violence survivor. She’s so much more than what she lived through but most important, she was loved so much more than she ever knew. Truly loved and missed.
