George Brooks Porter

George Brooks Porter, age 71 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at his home. He was a member of Nelson Chapel Church of Christ, retired from ALCOA after 30 years, and a member of the 25 Year Club. He loved to hunt, fish and farm. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Frances Porter; brothers, John Edward Porter and Don Porter; father-in-law, Clarence Crye. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Norma Porter; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Rebekah Porter; daughter, Kathy Porter; grandson, Evan Porter; mother-in-law, Bonnie Crye; a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Nelson Chapel Cemetery for a graveside service with Tom Maxwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
