George M. ''Jude'' Queener

QUEENER, George Madison “Jude”, age 92, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at University of Tennessee Medical Center from complications of a lawn mower accident at his home April 24, 2006. George was born July 4, 1914, in Friendsville, TN. He was a graduate of Friendsville High School. He was employed by ALCOA Aluminum Company for 34 years as a welder, was a member of the 25 Year Service Club and retired in 1975. He was a member of Zion Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Caswell and Effie Mae (Smith) Queener; brothers, John, Charlie, Carl, Dennis and Claude; sisters, Loma Henry, Maude Thurmer, Mayme Remine, Lucille Rankin, Infant Maxine; grandson, Chris Finley. Survivors include wife of 66 years, Mary Ruth (Hall) Queener; daughter, Judy Finley; granddaughter and husband Tamara and John Barham; great grandsons, Chad Madison and Matthew Allen Barham; sister, Claire Brown; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for a graveside service with Rev. Bob Lawson officiating.
