George Oliver Pierce, Jr.

George Oliver Pierce, Jr., age 71 of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Park West Medical Center. He was retired from the Tennessee Highway Patrol as a retired Sargent. He was preceded in death by his parents, George O. Pierce, Sr., and Oma Murrell Pierce; brother, Kenneth (Buddy) Pierce; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Clyde Irwin; brother-in-law, Galen Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Diane Pierce; mother-in-law, Joy Norris; step daughter and step son-in-law, Ashley and Ricky Bailey; step daughter, Crystal Savage; granddaughter, Dakota Shipley; special nephew and niece, Phil (Rawhide) and Beverley Woodruff; faithful companion, Meg McMuffin; sisters, Mary Helen (Mrs. Ralph) Millsaps, Betty Jo (Mrs. Galen) Johnson all of Maryville, Ms. June Lawson of Paxton, IL; sister-in-law, Jean Pierce; caregiver, Tammy Hawk. Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Franklin officiating. The interment will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Cemetery in Lenoir City. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
