Helen Louise Harper Davis

Helen Louise Harper Davis of Friendsville, TN passed away at Kindred Fairpark after a long illness on January 29th, 2014 at the age of 87. She was a member of Middlesettlements United Methodist Church in Friendsville, TN. She was also a long time member of the Eastern Star, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Davis, Sr.; son, John Steven Davis; parents, Bruce and Reba Sauls Harper; sister, Jackie Harper; brothers, Max Harper and John Harper. She is survived by son, Thomas H. Davis, Jr. and wife Sherryl; grandson, Bryan Steven Davis and wife Tina; granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Long and husband Bryan; great-granddaughter, Alexis Marie Long. Helen is also survived by brothers, Chester and wife Anne Harper, Jim and wife Shirley Harper, Bill and wife Martha Harper; sister-in-law, Marion Clinton; many nieces and nephews. Helen was an extremely giving and compassionate woman. She was a caregiver for her husband, father, mother, and brother, all through their illnesses until their death, all the while raising and caring for her granddaughter, and never had a complaint. She so enjoyed growing her own flowers, and was so skillful at it, that it was often said of her ''she could put a stick in the ground and it would sprout. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February lst, 2014, from 2-3:00 p.m. at Middlesettlements United Methodist Church with funeral services to follow with the Reverend Ron Fisher officiating.
