Hewell J. Davis

Hewell J. Davis, age 88 of Townsend, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the ALCOA 25 Year Club and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Navy. Mr. Davis was an artist and painter who loved painting in Cades Cove. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Lee Davis; 3 children, Sharon and Paul Sooter of Maryville, Michael and Becky Davis of Colorado and Jeff Davis of Ashland City, TN; 5 grandchildren, Jonathan, Meredith, Ethan, Corey and Stephanie; a great granddaughter and 4 grand dogs. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Tuckaleechee United Methodist Cemetery for a graveside service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a favorite charity.
