Howard L Jones, of Maryville, passed away March 5, 2024. Born in 1941, Howard was the anchor of Midland Plaza having operated Jones Equipment Company for 40 years. After graduating from Oklahoma City’s Crooked Oak High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served as Embassy guard in several overseas locations.
Howard was preceded in death by parents Truman Jones and Naomi Keel, sister Nancy and brother John. He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Dottie) Jones, daughters Ashley Jones and Jennifer Garland; son-in-law John Clay Garland; grandchildren Anna Kate & Drew Garland; and his brother Albert Jones and wife Sharon; several sisters-in law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews; many special friends and ever-present buddies Jimmy & Ernie.
Howard embodied the best qualities: finding a way to smile and laugh, love of family and humor; all of which added to the depth and color of his character… a character to be remembered and cherished.
Visitation will be held at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home on Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 PM. Graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday March 11 ,2024, at Carpenters Campground Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Carroll officiating.
