J. D. Russell, age 73 of Maryville, passed away unexpectedly at home Thursday morning, October 15, 2009. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Pete and Josie Russell and mother, Myrtle Russell. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary (Finger) Russell; sons, Keith Russell and Penny, Bobby Russell and Debbie; “number 3 son”, Steve Cannon; grandchildren, Dee and wife Kaylen, Melissa and husband Max, Beth, Josh and Jessica; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Jimmy (Frena) Russell of Morristown; sisters, Mary Ellen Cable, Earlene (Granville) Gregory. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Old Piney Baptist Church with Rev. George Whitehead and Rev. Rex Everett officiating. The interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
