Jacob H. Land

Jacob H. Land, age 94 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at his home. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II having served in the South Pacific and European Theatres from 1941-45. He was retired from ALCOA with 42 years of service and was a Mason with Prudentia Lodge #719 F&AM, Alcoa. He was preceded in death by his parents, James R. and Anisie Derrick Land; sisters, Verna, Maude, Irene; brothers, Samuel, Wilmer and Eugene. Mr. Land enjoyed traveling, gardening, his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Evelyn Land; 3 nieces, Barbara, Margaret and Peggy; brothers-in-law, John Landers and wife Catherine and Robert Landers and wife Eloise. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. Sunday in the Grandview Mausoleum Chapel followed by funeral services at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott Linginfelter.
