James David ''Steve'' Brooks

James David Steve Brooks, age 89 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U. S. Army Combat Engineers and was retired from Vulcan Materials. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Brooks and brother, Eugene Brooks. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lucy Prater Brooks. The body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
