James “Jim” Lloyd Heaton was a devoted husband, exceptional father and faithful follower of Christ. Born and raised in Maryville, Tennessee, where he fell in love with his wife, Connie Prater. Jim was an avid fisherman, loved the outdoors, and enjoyed his trips to Fontana Lake.

Jim passed away on Saturday, November 15, and will be held in the hearts of his family and those who knew and loved him. He is proceeded in death by his father and mother, Fern and Helen Heaton, brother Terry Heaton and sister Ann Simerly. Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Connie, their daughter and his favorite son-in-law Ashley and Adam Miller, sisters Janis (Freddie) Dailey, Pam (Jack) Younce, Janice Heaton, brother Bill (Shannon) Heaton and Lee Simerly. He is also survived by several special nieces and nephews, cousins, and special fishing buddies.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM, Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Friendship Baptist Church with the service to follow at 6:00 PM with Pastor James Atkins officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Friendship Baptist Church for a graveside service.
