Joe Kyle McClellan, “J.K.”, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and servant of God, passed away peacefully at home on December 27th at the age of 91, surrounded by loved ones.Born on March 27th, 1934 to Kyle and Lona McClellan, J.K. has been a lifetime resident of Louisville, TN. He graduated from Friendsville Highschool where he met his high school sweetheart and faithful wife, Bobbie Lee Rose (McClellan). The two built a life defined by devotion and shared 72 years of marriage.
Known for his gentle spirit, unwavering integrity, and love for his family, J.K. was a man who believed in the value of a hard day's work and the importance of a kind smile. He was most at home when farming or tending to his cattle, cheering on his teams in college basketball, or watching a John Wayne movie. He enjoyed taking trips to the beach and took pride in his dedication to both his career and his church; J.K. retired from Bell South / AT&T after 41 years of service and served his church community at Friendsville First Baptist Church for seventy years where he earned the designation of deacon.
J.K. is survived by his beloved wife, Bobbie (Rose) McClellan; his daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Andy Landers, and son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Sheila McClellan; and his grandchildren, Andrea (Troy) Larkin and great-grandchildren Millie and Charlotte, Shanea McClellan, Drew Landers, and Kyla (Dillon) Murphy and great-grandchildren Leighton and Georgia. He also leaves behind his sisters, Marge Fugate and Patsy Neely. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Melvin McClellan.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, December 31st, at McCammon Ammons Click Funeral Home in Maryville, TN from 9am-3pm for those that would like to pay their respects. He will be buried with generations of his family with a Celebration of Life service on January 2nd at 2pm at Middlesettlements Cemetery (2729 Middlesettlements Rd, Maryville, TN 37801).
