John W. Sterling, Jr.

John W. Sterling, Jr., age 80 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009. He was a longtime member of Maryville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, was a veteran of the Korean War and past commander of the VFW. He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Ann; parents, John W., Sr. and Zella Mae Sterling; brother, Chester Sterling; sisters, Libby Hitson and Billie Scenturia. Survivors include his wife, Pat Sterling; sons and daughters-in-law, John William, III and Janice Sterling, Steven R. and Rowena Sterling; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Charles K. Lambert; granddaughters, Jessica Sterling and Annamae Sterling; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Mary Sterling; sister-in-law, Annie Sterling. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Maryville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ronald Longmire officiating.
