Karen Sue Kolbe

Kolbe, Karen Sue, age 68, of Maryville, Tennessee, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 13, 2025. Although Karen was born with a severe form of Osteogenesis Imperfecta and was never able to walk, she earned a high school diploma through homebound education under the City of Alcoa School System. She was also taught about life’s most important things by her wonderful parents, Mr. & Mrs. Earle Kolbe.

Karen was loved by all who knew her. Despite her physical limitations and confinement to bed in later years, she was cheerful to all and seldom complained. Visitors who came to encourage her came away encouraged themselves. Karen also possessed a strong determination that served her well throughout life.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, William Earle Kolbe and Mae Burns Kolbe. She is survived by her sister, Alice Kolbe, and several first cousins. We will be forever grateful for the various caregivers who served over the many years. God bless you.

The family will receive friends at McCammon Ammons Click Funeral Home on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 1 pm to 2 pm. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., followed by burial at Grandview Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Maryville, or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
