Lois Alene Crisp

Lois Alene Crisp, 85, of Maryville, TN, began her celebration of eternal life on Monday, August 5, 2025.

Born and reared in Maryville, she was the 12th of 14 siblings. She was a devoted daughter, loving and protective mother, caring grandmother and loyal and dedicated sister and friend.

She was employed as a drafter at Tennessee Valley Authority for many years before retiring in 1988.

She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her siblings. nieces and nephews. She enjoyed family get-togethers —many of which she planned—scrapbooking, crafting, yard sale and thrift store shopping. She was an excellent seamstress and a perfectionist at everything she did.

She was outgoing, enthusiastic, affectionate and a productive and diligent worker at any project she undertook. She was always willing to help anyone in need and loved the Lord and reading her Bible.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. (Bill) Crisp; parents Robert I. and Nancy Elizabeth Hubbard; Brothers Howard, James, Cecil, Robert Gus, John, Raymond and Edwin and Leroy; sisters Verneda Hicks and Phyllis Coffey.

She is survived by children Donna Nipper and David Dunlap; grandchildren Jared, Zack (Cassie) and Logan Nipper; great-grandchildren Lucy and Conrad Nipper; sisters Martha McDaniel, Gaynelle Hunter and Arlene Haislip, a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family wishes to extend special appreciation to the staff at Brookdale Browns Creek Assisted Living and to the nurses in the Surgical Intensive Care Step-down units and ER at Blount Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care, kindness and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Alzheimer’s Disease Research.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the service to follow at 7:00 PM with Jared Nipper officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 8, 2025 at Lynnhurst Cemetery, Knoxville, TN for the interment.
