Margaret S. Atchison

Margaret “Peggy” Sanders Atchison - Died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at Blount Memorial Transitional Care. Mrs. Atchison graduated from Old Knoxville High school and the University of Tennessee. She was President of Sigma Kappa Sorority, and President of the Panhellanic Council at UT. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Anthony Sanders and Grace Hood Sanders; sister and brother-in-law, Louise Sanders Hale and Oliver M. Hale; Husband, Frank T. Atchison Sr.; son, Lt. Col. (Ret) Joseph Sanders Atchison. Survivors include her son, Frank T. Atchison Jr. And wife Carolyn of Houston, TX; daughter, Sara Atchison Fleenor and Husband Bill of Mt. Juliet, TN; daughter-in-law, Jane H. Atchison of Newnan, GA; She leaves six grandchildren, Ryan A. Atchison, Frank Taylor Atchison III, Ayn Atchison Owens (Tod), Amy L. Atchison, Andrew T. Fleenor (Knight), and Joseph F. Fleenor (Catherine); One great-grandchild, Lillian Hall Fleenor; nephew, Robert Hood Hale (Fonda) of Charlotte, NC. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday April 23 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church with Rev. Martha Sterne officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship hall.
