Mildred M. Gibson

Mildred M. Gibson, age 77, passed away April 29, 2024, at her home in Alcoa under hospice care. She was an amazing wife, mother and Mamaw.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Whitehead Bradley; parents, Fern Whitehead, and Dorothy “Marie” Carter; brothers, Gene Whitehead, Rex Whitehead, George Whitehead.

She is survived by her husband, Freddie Gibson; daughter, Amanda (Major) Cox; grandchildren, Austin (Tangi) Hendrick Joseph (Gabrielle) Hendrick; Jennifer Chadwick (Dustin), Danielle Bradley, Sally Bradley; great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Brooks, Melody, Johnathan, CJ, Abel, Kylera, LaDainian, Messiah, Zariyah, Jazlyn, Lucius and My’Asia; brother, Bobbie (Anita) Whitehead; sister, Shirley Luttrell, sister-in-law’s, Debbie and Ellen. Several nieces and nephews. Special lifelong friends Linda Cable and Charlie Driggers.

The family would like to thank Dr. Waller and his nurses at Blount Memorial Hospital,  as well as the nurses with Blount Memorial Hospice.
