Mildred Imogene Murphy Best

Mildred Imogene Murphy Best, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, age 86 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She had been a member of Carpenters United Methodist Church for 58 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern Isaac Best; parents, W. A. Sr., and Johnnie Rue Tuck Murphy; sisters and brothers, Alma Marie Trent, William Andrew Murphy, Jr., James Hubert Murphy, Charles Lowell Murphy, Rachel Rosealee Talmage; son-in-law, Stephen Reed; granddaughter, LeiAnn Reed. Survivors include her sons, Isaac Best, Steven Best both of Maryville; special friend, David Mull of Maryville; daughters, Avice Reed of Maryville, LaVern Sellers and husband Jerry of Townsend, Cindy Morton and husband Larry, Kathy White and husband Eddie all of Maryville; grandchildren, Lynnette Reed, Eve Connatser, John Best, Alice Wilson, Jeremy Sellers, Beth Akers, Tim Morton, Tony Morton, Jennifer Kirkland, Brittany Weatherbee, Destany White; 14 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters and brother, Francis Coffman, Jaunita Kathryn Blair, Marilyn Euretha Simerly, David Paul Murphy and wife Linda; special sisters-in-law, Pauline Murphy, Jeanette Best, Mamie Sue Best; brother-in-law, Bill Talmage; several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Alan Smuckler; special nurse, Amy Whitehead; first floor CRU; 2nd floor Palative Care and Family Birthing Center staff at Blount Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Blair and Rev. Jason Blair officiating. The interment will follow in Carpenters United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
