Alcoa, TN

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother. Patsy Opal Jett Singleton “Granny” of Maryville. Patsy passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 6. Preceded in death by her husband Don Singleton, brother William “Bill” Jett, mother Virginia “Virgie” Jett, father Eric “Pat” Jett.

Survived by her sister Marietta Jett Sisk and children Lisa Stewart, Leigh Ann Singleton, Lora Singleton Long, Lynnette Knight and Luther Singleton, 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

She brought laughter, warmth, and spirited charm to all who knew her. The proudest achievements of her life were being a devoted mother and Granny, always putting her family first and making their lives brighter. Patsy was well known for her sassy, quirky nature—she was truly the life of every party. Her love for church, especially the cherished old hymns at Broadway Baptist Church, was a cornerstone of her life. Patsy delighted in cooking for her family and playfully fussed when no one made it quite like her. She adored painting, cheering for the Tennessee Volunteers, lady VOLS basketball lost their biggest fan. She loved making Christmas candy, and creating special moments with her grandchildren in the kitchen. We will continue singing “Five Golden Rings” every Christmas in your honor. A loyal friend, Patsy always answered the phone with a caring word or a joke. She treasured “girls’ night out” with her closet friends, and her support for loved ones was unmatched. We love you, we miss you, we thank you for cherished memories.

A graveside service will be held at 11am Saturday August 16th at Magnolia Cemetery in Maryville TN.
