Paula S. Kenworthy

September 10, 1935 — June 29, 2025

Paula S. Kenworthy, born in 1935, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, at Williamson Memorial Hospital, leaving a legacy of courage, compassion, and infectious joy. A child of the post-Depression era, Paula dreamed of raising a family but lived a far grander adventure as a dedicated nurse, fearless adventurer, and devoted volunteer. Her servant’s heart shone through as she cared for neighbors’ children, volunteered tirelessly, and even rafted the Youghiogheny River with her sons' Boy Scout troop. She embraced life’s challenges, living in French-speaking Switzerland without knowing the language, and shared cherished years with her beloved sister, Ann, in a bond that echoed their childhood. A voracious reader, she explored new worlds through books, often reading one a day in her final years. Her laughter and love for family defined every moment, leaving memories filled with warmth and humor.

Paula was predeceased by her husband, Bruce Jr.; son, Don; and sister, Ann. She is survived by her son, Bruce III, and his wife, Gail; granddaughters, Erin (husband Robert) and Darcy (husband Ben); great-granddaughter, Ellie; niece, Mariann (husband Paul); and nephew, Lyn (wife Susan). A celebration of her life will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Maryville, Tennessee, her adopted home, on September 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM. All are welcome to honor a woman who lived boldly, loved deeply, and left no regrets.

Please do not send flowers. Donations to St Paul’s in lieu.
