Raymond A. Vandaveer, age 88, passed away on May 20, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who treasured time spent with his family and loved ones. Raymond was a United States Army veteran serving in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was also a dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service for over thirty years, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to serving his community.
He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-four years, Patricia Vandaveer; his sister, Bobbie Miller; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Heather Vandaveer; his granddaughters, Amanda (Hitch) Gilchrist and Ashley Vandaveer; his nieces, Vickie (Greg) Russell, Angie (Jeff) Daffron, and Missie Miller; his great nieces, Katie (David) Warren, Sarah (Isaac) Pottorff; great nephew, Isaac Daffron; his great grandchildren, Jennings Gilchrist and Henley Gilchrist; former daughter-in-law, Mary Mosher; and numerous amazing friends including Dan Price, Ernie Wallace, Don Thomason, Harold Manning, and Bobby Roberts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Elizabeth Vandaveer, and his brother-in-law, Howard Miller.
Raymond will be remembered for his love of family, his kindness, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 PM, Friday, May 22,2026, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
