Rev. Dr Thomas Dwayne McLemore, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully in his home in Maryville, TN Wednesday, May 14, 2025 after a lengthy battle with illness. Dr. McLemore was a graduate of Everett High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Maryville College, and received his master and doctorate degrees from Covington Theological Seminary. In his earlier years, he served as a radioman in the United States Navy from 1975-1979. He served on the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany, and the ballistic missile submarine USS James Madison. Following his service in the military, he continued service to his community as a member of the Blount County Sheriff’s Department and then with the City of Maryville government. He then proceeded on to serve as a pastor to a number of churches: Lakeside Baptist in Vonore, Morganton Baptist in Greenback, West Maryville Baptist in Maryville, Altoona Baptist in Coker Creek, and Tarklin Valley Baptist in Knoxville. Dr. McLemore is preceded in death by parents, Allen McLemore and Vesta (Duncan) McDaniel; Brothers Benny W McLemore, Oliver McLemore, sister Sue (McLemore) Oliver; Brother-in-laws Harold Myers, Charles Cameron, Dan Oliver, Rev. Kenneth Martin; Sister-in-law, Sherry Myers Christian; father and mother in law, Don and Pearl Myers. Survivors include: Wife of 42 years, Rhonda (Myers) McLemore; Daughter Sarah Elizabeth McLemore (Brandon Kraus); Brother, Wendell (Margaret) McLemore; Sisters, Wilma Cameron and Sandra (Grayson) Garrett; sister-in-laws, Hilda McLemore, Winnie McLemore, Donna Martin. Brother-in-laws, Jim Myers and Bill Christian. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will meet 2:00 P.M. Saturday May 17, 2025 at West Millers Cove Cemetery in Walland for a graveside service with military honors and Rev. Dr. Scott Linginfelter officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects and sign the guest register Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
