Rev. Steve M. Tuck was a man who preached from the heart. A pastor who loved to sing about the peace of faith and love of God, Rev. Steve helped many through their walks with Christ. Rev. Steve, 65, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Steve was the son of the late Mose and Violet Tuck and was born in Blount County on July 7, 1950. When Steve was 26, he felt a calling to the ministry. He knew it would be difficult with a young family to support, but he found ways to pour himself into service for the Lord. He took faith in his favorite verse, Phil 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." In 1976, he was asked to take a temporary position at Meadow UMC in Greenback, TN. That "temporary position" lasted 11 years. Since then, Steve had been honored to serve at Sevierville Parish, New Salem UMC in Knoxville, and Mt. Hebron UMC in Greeneville, TN. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brothers Larry, Dale, Don, and Raymond Tuck; and his sisters Angie Isbell and Wanda Hutcheson. He is survived by his wife Sara; son and daughter-in-law John and Karen Tuck; daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Jeff Campbell; grandchildren Kevin and Trevor Parton, and Nicole Thompson; brother and sister-in-law Harold and Helen Tuck; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Albert Coning, and Barbara and Roger Poole; brother-in-law Charles DeLozier and wife Mary Barker; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Broadway United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the Church following the service.
