Richard "Rick" G. Young

Richard “Rick” G. Young, passed away in Maryville on July 5, 2025, with family by his side.

Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jane Young, grandparents, Julia and Robert Young of Maryville and grandparents, Ray and Del Dawson of Knoxville.

Rick is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Audry Young and two grandchildren, Maddox and Lakelyn Young of Knoxville and Pam Young of Maryville, mother of Justin and grandmother of Maddox and Lakelyn.

Rick attended Maryville High School and University of Tennessee where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He furthered his education with a degree from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana Southern University for his banking career. He spent his entire career in the banking industry. He started working for Hamilton National Bank in Knoxville and continued with many banks in the area including CBBC, Foothills Bank and United Community Bank. He also served as President of the Maryville Kiwanis.

Rick played baseball and softball and coached many little league baseball, basketball and soccer teams for his son, Justin and later for the Giants Baseball Team in 2007. He was an avid fan of Corvette’s owning 2 in his lifetime.

A celebration of life will be scheduled later.
