Roy A. Gamble

Roy A. Gamble, age 79, of Maryville passed away Tuesday April 29, 2025 at Morning View Transitional Care Center. He grew up on the Gamble Family Farm and continued farming until he was no longer able. He was a member of Oak View Baptist Church where he sang in the choir as well as The Oak View Baptist Church Gospel Quartet. Roy was a 1963 graduate of Walland HIgh School. He retired from Alcoa as a millwright. He also served on the Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He was proud to serve as a Blount County Commissioner and he was an avid collector of International Harvester.

Roy is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Mary McCall Gamble; parents J.R. and Irene Gamble. Survivors include brother, Bob Gamble (Debby); sister, Sarah Scarbrough; nephew and nieces, Jess Gamble (Shannon); Amanda Roberson (Jeff); and Norah Hord (Brandon). Great nieces and nephews, Hannah and Abbey Roberson, Savannah and James Gamble, Dakota Hord, Sierra Lowder (Brian) and baby Norene Lowder, Reem Provinsal, Sara Hodge, Dena Abdulla, Farris Abdulla, Angela Taylor, and Greg McCall.

Funeral services will be held at McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm with the funeral following at 2:00pm. The internment will be held at 3:00pm at Centennial Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jess Gamble, Jeff Roberson, Jimmy Pierce, Dakota Hord, Cliff Caldwell, and Jason Finchum.
