Roy Nelson Hicks

Roy Nelson Hicks, 92, passed away September 2, 2023. Roy graduated from Everett High School. He served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sargent from July 17, 1952, to July 16, 1956. He retired from American General Life Insurance as an agent with 35+ years’ service. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Earl and Lura Hicks; wife, Barbara Hicks: brother, Earl Hicks, Jr.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Cynthia Hicks; daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi and Ray Ivey; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Lisa Hicks; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred, Tommy and Ray Hicks; sisters, Doris Bivens and Faye Lennon.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Old Ballards Chapel Cemetery in Louisville for a graveside service with Pastor Mike Hicks officiating.
