Rufus “Archie” Handy Jewell, Jr., age 85, of Alcoa passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023, at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Andrea Dawn Jewell on December 12, 2023; parents, Rufus and Thelma Jackson Jewell, Sr.; sisters, Virginia Jewell Simpson, Rose Laverne Jewell; brother-in-law, RB Hillard; niece, Tammy Low; nephew, Rocky Jones.
He is survived by his son, Brett Jewell and wife, Tosha, who was his nurse; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Hillard, Tony Jones; niece, Rose Simpson; nephew, Tommy Jones; great nephew, Mitchell Jones; great niece, Kaylee Glover; many beloved friends.
He was a member of Alcoa First Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Alcoa High School and retired from Delta Airlines. He will truly be missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM, Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Alcoa First Baptist Church.
