Samuel D. Best

BEST, Samuel D., age 93 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2006, at Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. He was a member of Maryville First Baptist Church, retired from ALCOA after 40 years of service and was a member of the 25 Year Service Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Murrin Best; parents, Rev. Oscar and Ella Mae Wilson Best; brothers, William Boyd Best, John R. Best; sisters, Irene Borden, Jessie Mae Ridge. Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, David M. and Patricia Best of Maryville, Dr. Thomas R. and Melissa Best of Loudon; grandsons, David H. Best, Dr. Thomas R. Best, Jr., Christopher Best; granddaughter, Temple Page; great granddaughter, Taylor Best; brother and sister-in-law, Warren O. and Gladys Best of Maryville; sister, Elizabeth Witt of Knoxville; sister and brother-in-law, Juanita & Wayne Cagle of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Fisher and Rev. Doug Crowder officiating. The interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
