Thad Statem Crumpton

Thad Statem Crumpton, age 95 of Maryville, passed away Monday, February 28, 2005, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for 53 years, and was a member of Alcoa High School Alumni, Class of 1930, being the oldest surviving alumnus. He was retired from ALCOA and a member of the 25 Year Service Club. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Ruby Tallent Crumpton; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald A. and Doris Crumpton of Salisbury, NC and David H. and Linda Crumpton of Kennesaw, GA; grandchildren, Lara, Chris, Bill and Scott; one great grandchild, Avonleigh Ann; brother and sister-in-law, William Harlan and Mildred Crumpton of Maryville; niece, Beverly Crumpton Davis; nephew, Doug Crumpton. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Long officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:45 p.m. at New Gray Cemetery, Knoxville, for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
