Violet Greer Williams, age 88, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on January 22, 2025, at Lenoir City, TN. She was a longtime resident of LaBelle, FL. She was a retired bus driver from Hendry County Schools. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends. Her calm demeanor, sense of humor and hospitality were enjoyed by many over the years at the numerous family gatherings that she hosted with her husband. She loved spending summers in Tellico Plains, where her friends and family would travel to the mountains to visit. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Eugene “Scoot” Alton Williams, Sr.; parents, Walter and Susie Greer; daughter, Barbara Day; grandson, Christopher Day; siblings, Walter “Bo” Greer, Bill Greer, Wallace Greer, Arelia Whidden, Margaret Howard, Jim Greer, and Wayne Greer.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Thompson and wife, Kimberly; son, Eugene “Junior” Williams; siblings, Blish (Ann) Greer, Freida Bullington, Johnny (Colleen) Greer; grandchildren, Jacob Thompson, Austin Thompson, Michael Day, Diana Day, Jack Day, Eugene Day, Stephanie Day, Alex Day; a vast number of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends will meet 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Ortona Cemetery, 8898 West State Rd. 78, Moore Haven, FL for a Celebration of Life with Pastor David Seuis officiating. The service will be followed by the inurnment. Family and friends are invited to attend a family lunch gathering after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a cancer research organization of your choice.
