Willard Gene Sands

SANDS, W. Gene, age 54 of Maryville, went to live with the Lord on March 7th, 2002, at U. T. Medical Center after a battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles H. Sands and father-in-law, Tom P. Burdiss. He is survived by his mother, Mildred Sands of Maryville; wife, Wilma Burdiss Sands of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Johnny L. Newcomb; grandsons, Johnny II and Jesse Wade Newcomb all of Rockford; godchild, Kyla Blevins; sister and brother-in-law, Vickie and James Dunn of Maryville; mother-in-law, Birdie Burdiss of Ottawa, KS; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Wanda Burdiss LeMaster and Ron C. LeMaster of Ottawa, KS; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Howard and Loretta Burdiss of Freeman, MO; best friends, Jimmy and Liz Nigh of Baldwin, KS and Dennis and Shirley Cowan of Maryville; several special nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers at the City of Maryville. Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Macht officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Grandview Cemetery for the interment.
