With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William Edds Timmons, who departed this life on February 24, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on May 2, 1942, in Maryville, Tennessee, Bill was the beloved son of William Gilbert Timmons and Barbara Edds Timmons. Though he later resided in Albany, Georgia, Maryville always held a special place in his heart. Bill was a proud graduate of Maryville High School, Class of 1960, and continued his education at East Tennessee State. His strong character and commitment to service were evident early in life, earning the distinguished honor of Eagle Scout with Troop 89 on August 23, 1955 — an achievement that reflected the integrity and leadership he carried throughout his life. A faithful member of First Baptist Church, Bill lived his life guided by quiet faith, steady devotion, and a deep love for his family. For 52 wonderful years, he shared a devoted marriage with his beloved wife, Beckie Fronaberger Timmons. Their enduring partnership was a testament to love, loyalty, and lifelong companionship. Bill dedicated 35 years of service to various banks in Maryville, where he built lasting relationships and earned the respect of colleagues and community members alike. He also proudly served in the 119th Air National Guard, exemplifying his commitment to both community and country. An outdoorsman at heart, Bill found joy in hunting and fishing, especially alongside his cherished bird dogs. In later years, his beloved Yorkie, Lulu, brought him constant companionship and comfort. Whether in the woods, on the water, or at home with family, he embraced life’s simple and meaningful pleasures.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Beckie; sisters-in-law Hope Brown and Cheryl Jones; nieces and nephews Jennifer Griffin and family, Kelli Brown and family, Jesse Jones and family, and Justin Jones and family; and his cousin Carolyn DeBusk and her son, Blake DeBusk. He also leaves behind extended family and dear friends who will forever treasure his steady presence and gentle spirit. Bill will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to family, his honorable service, and the quiet strength that defined his life. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the values he upheld, and the love he so freely gave. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
