Willie Ruth Nicely Atchley

Willie Ruth (Nicely) Atchley died March 10, 2015. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Maryville, Tennessee, a graduate of the University of Tennessee earning B. S. and M. S. Degrees in Vocational Home Economics; worked at Alcoa in the Metallurgical Department, taught in the Alcoa School System, and in the Blount County School System. She was a former Contact Volunteer and a long time volunteer at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. (Bud) Atchley; parents, A.C. and Fawn Nicely; sister, Edna Witzel. She is survived by nephew, Thomas Clifton Witzel; special cousins, Doris Lawrence Ritter, Gary and Kathy Acuff, Martha and Dudle Walker, and several other cousins; special friends, Christine and Ralph Patterson and family; Shirley and Harold Breeden and family; Gary Presley and family; Elaine and Sankie Baldwin and family. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ballard officiating. The interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Atchley requests no flowers, but if you wish, memorials may be made to a special account for her nephew Tommy.
